Lights, Camera, Action…

What happens when a group of inspired photographers collaborate with a picture perfect Manor? Magic!

That’s exactly what happened on Studio Hill Road a couple months ago… our beautiful estate became an inspiration to the gifted Pete Lott when he decided to use our venue in a different capacity than ever before… he hosted the first ever, Wedding Photography Workshop. This fully styled workshop complete with a bride, groom and bridal party took his students through the experience of a full day of wedding photography. The Briarcliff Manor provided amazing photo opportunities for Pete and his students to capture beautiful moments through their lenses, and on film.

They started their day long workshop in Yonkers, NY at Pete’s studio. There, he went over the basics of the gear he uses, what settings he would typically use throughout the day, and set the scene for what to expect to learn for the day. He explained how he would be teaching the art of posing, lighting, securing clients, marketing and editing photos, how to use off camera lighting, how to utilize creative angles and how to get the most out of your natural light.

Fast forward, the crew made their way to The Briarcliff Manor, where Lott began the action in our luxurious suites. Our famous Bridal Suite pink couch and regal mirror staged the perfect backdrop for beautiful model, Danae, who was dressed in a lace gown-style by the talented Joanna of David’s Bridal. Our groom for the day, John, confidently made final touches to his look as he awaited his gorgeous bride to be in the Groom’s Suite.

He went on to capture the “first look” in the front of our grand manor. The intimate mock ceremony was made better by the beautiful view of the Hudson River, overshadowed only by the breathtaking sunsets-thus producing extremely dramatic photos.

Fun fact: One of our very own made an appearance in the photos- can you spot our owner, Perry DiNapoli?

From Bridal Party portraits to the mock reception, and even cake cutting, Lott went through an entire day of what a real Wedding Photographer would endure.

The photos from the workshop truly emphasized the talents of Lott and his students, giving them the opportunities to capture beautiful moments and learn more about what it’s truly like to film a real life wedding. The various unique photo opportunities our mansion naturally offers produced amazing shots!

We absolutely loved having the opportunity to collaborate with Pete and carry out his vision for his first workshop. We’re so honored that he chose our venue and we look forward to collaborating with more of our recommended partners in months to come!

Please take a moment to take a look at the amazing photos and videos captured by Pete Lott’s Team and Students. Enjoy!
