A Beautiful Spring Wedding at The Briarcliff Manor

Question: How did you two first meet?
Answer: We met through an online dating site known as CoffeeMeetsBagel.
Question: What was your first impression of each other?
Answer: Meagan: I remember thinking he was cute and that he had big feet (we went bowling on our first date).
Mark: I thought she looked pretty
Question: What was your first date?
Answer: Bowling. And then after bowling we went to a restaurant.
Question: Who said ‘I love you’ first?
Answer: Mark did.
Question: What is the most memorable date that you two shared?
Answer: Our first vacation together which was to Cape Cod 3 months after we first started dating.
Question: What are your nicknames for each other?
Answer: Pookie pie, my cutes, pookums, cutie patoots
Question: Is there a favorite spot you two share?
Answer: Time on the couch with each other and our fur babies
Question: Who met the in-laws first?
Answer: Mark met Meagan’s parents first at the swim club they belonged to
Question: What are your favorite things about each other?
Answer: Meagan: his drive, he is a very determined person and always striving to do better. He lets me be a crazy cat lady with our two fur babies and sometimes even if I give them more attention than I give him. I love his easygoing personality.
Mark: She has a big heart. Whether it’s the cats or her patients at work, she cares about others. She’s family oriented and helps me put less pressure on myself.
Question: Do you have a special tradition on Valentine’s Day?
Answer: The past couple years we’ve gone to a Greek restaurant in Tenafly.
Question: When did you know that you were going to propose to her?
Answer: After moving in together and seeing that after nearly a year together it was going really well.
Question: What was your proposal like/where was it?
Answer: It wasn’t exactly as I planned, but it was still special. I bought her a coffee mug that when you put hot water in it, it reveals the words “Meagan, will you marry me?” Well, she noticed the writing before I wanted her to so I proposed then and there.
Question: How did you feel when he proposed?
Answer: I was shocked but ecstatic. For some reason, I thought he was going to propose on or around our two year anniversary. We had come back from a surprise date night in the city where he took me to dinner and a comedy show. It was about 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and I was exhausted. We were in our kitchen and he said he had a present to give me and it was just a plain black mug but he wanted me to drink my coffee out of it the next time I had my coffee. Well, I happened to see the writing and said “what?” once he realized I could see what it said, he got down on his knees. The next day I was so excited I couldn’t sleep, I woke up early like a little kid on Christmas day. I was so excited to tell my parents in person and show them the ring.
Question: How long have the both of you known each other?
Answer: Three years.
Question: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Answer: Mark: Sharing such a special moment with friends and family.
Meagan: Sharing our personal vows with each other. I thought I was going to be nervous but felt very cool, calm, and collected standing up there in front of all of our family and friends. It was so special to hear his words and have him hear mine.
Question: How would you describe the style or theme of your wedding?
Answer: Classy, elegant, romantic, traditional
Question: What did you look most forward to? The wedding day, the ceremony, the honeymoon?
Answer: Both: the wedding day
Question: What was the most fun detail of your wedding to plan?
Answer: Mark: the cake tasting and food tasting
Meagan: taking dance lessons to choreograph our first dance
Question: What was the most unique detail at your wedding?
Answer: We choreographed our first dance and took dance lessons for a few months before the wedding. We also had a calligraphy mirror for our seating arrangement instead of place cards.
Question: What was your something borrowed, something new and something blue?
Answer: Something blue: Betsey Johnson heels (with blue bottom) and blue underwear.
Something new: Veil my friend lent me that she didn’t wear for her own wedding. My seamstress altered it to make it cathedral length for me as I wanted it to be.
Question: To the Groom: What were you thinking when you saw her walking down the aisle?
Answer: The camera man told me I was in the wrong spot so I was thinking I needed to move over. But after that I was thinking that she looked stunning.
Question: What is the first thing the groom noticed about the bride when she walked down the aisle?
Answer: We kept it traditional so the first look was her walking down the aisle.
Question: Is there anything from your wedding day that you will keep as memorabilia?
Answer: Our cake topper, our vow books, menu from the wedding day, wedding dress and wedding suit, and last but not least, the Briarcliff Manor water bottles. Also our pictures and our video.
Question: What is “your song” and why?
Answer: Our first dance song which was Endless Love, the Mariah Carey/Luthor Vandros version. We like all the words in the song, “two hearts that beat as one, our lives have just begun.”
Question: Who was your maid of honor and why?
Answer: I had two, one maid of honor and matron of honor. Both of them are my best friends since elementary school and I could never pick between the two. They are my absolute best friends, more like sisters and we have been through everything together.
Question: Who was your best man and why?
Answer: My brothers.
Question: Did you have your honeymoon yet? How was it/where was it?
Answer: Yes, we went on a cruise that went to Bermuda. It was great. We ate a ton. We drank a ton. We spent a ton of time swimming and in the sun. It was incredibly fun and relaxing.
Question: How would you describe your wedding day in one sentence?
Answer: Meagan: It was the best day of my life.
Mark: It was everything I hoped for and more.
